Types Of Jackets And How To Wear Them

Posted on 10 February 2022

It’s common knowledge that jackets truly have two functions – to keep you warm, and to define your style. While this first function is inevitably important, it’s time to consider the second one as well. Did you know that there are countless varieties of jackets you can choose from? No? Well, we’re about to tell you about a few of them. Grab a cup of tea, get comfortable and let’s go! It’s going to be a journey through the worlds of jackets.

Bomber Jacket

Now, what is that? You might ask. You might have heard that originally it was created for pilots as the airplane cockpits used to be pretty cold. Nowadays almost every man has such a jacket but in a slightly different form – it doesn’t need to be as warm as it used to be and it definitely doesn’t need to be lined with fur. The bomber jacket goes well with quite literally anything – a pair of sweats, or jeans, or a nice shirt. It’s so useful to just be able to throw something on, without having to worry about if it’s going to look with the rest of the outfit. That’s why it’s universal and always in style. You can never go wrong with it!

Denim Jacket

Just like bomber jackets, this is something that simply won’t ever go out of style. The denim jacket originated in the late 1800s and was created first and foremost for farmers. The seams of this jacket could be easily let out to create a looser fitting item if that was what the wearer needed. Nowadays you’ll see quite a few people wearing this kind of jacket. It’s popular among men, women, and children. It’s perfect for those spring days when it’s starting to get warmer, ideal for summer nights when it’s a little chiller, and wonderful for autumn strolls in the park. It’s so casual, yet amazingly versatile.

Chore coat

Yes, those do exist! We’re sure you definitely know what we’re talking about. And these are truly amazing. It’s not your typical coat, you won’t really go on a night out in it, but it’s perfect for doing all those chores outside of the house. It’s usually quite comfortable and not too warm, so you can layer up underneath it. It’s ideal for a weekend getaway or for a walk in the woods on those chilly afternoons in autumn. Made of wool, canvas, or denim, it’s going to be just what you need for those busy days outside.

Leather Jacket

Now, who doesn’t like adding a little bit of edginess to their outfit? Leather jackets come in various styles, shapes and forms, but one of the most popular ones is probably the double rider – a jacket with big collars and an asymmetrical zipper. Even though leather jackets were created in the 1900s for motorcyclists, nowadays quite literally everyone wears them. This item of clothing is just so versatile! On top of that, it’s a great choice if you want to look smart casual – just throw on some jeans, a shirt and a nice pair of boots, and there you have it, an ultimate look!

Puffer Jacket

This is an absolute must-have for winter. It’s ideal for going out when the temperatures drop – it’s lightweight, warm, and it does protect you from the occasional snow shower. There’s not much that needs to be said about the puffer jackets – they are just a standard practice. If you don’t already have one, maybe it’s time to splurge on a good quality one to keep you covered for a few seasons?

And there you have it, the most popular types of jackets every man needs to have. Now, the list can go on and on but we decided to stick only with the jackets that are truly versatile and trendy. It’s something you can style effortlessly and without putting too much thought into. How many of those jackets do you own? We hope some of them did make it to your personal list of favourites.
