Staying Stylish When Travelling

Posted on 18 February 2022

Is you are anything like most of the people, chances are, you love travelling. However, looking stylish on vacation sometimes can be a challenging task. And no wonder, your resources are limited to whatever you’ve packed and that’s probably one small suitcase worth of stuff. You have just a couple of outfits to choose from, probably one pair of shoes and a limited grooming collection. How do you make that work? Well, the answer is simple – there are a few tricks you need to know before you set off. It doesn’t have to be all complicated and difficult. We understand that when you're traveling light, there's no room for frills. But that doesn't mean you can't stay stylish! All you need are the right materials, an intelligent packing approach and a versatile grooming collection. So, keep on reading to find out what to pack!

Get some inspiration from a capsule wardrobe approach

Before you even start packing, make sure you have a proper look at your wardrobe. It is possible that you have already started building a capsule wardrobe, and you didn’t even know about that! Lay out some clothes you want to bring with you and decide whether they are versatile enough, so that they go with multiple other clothing items. Your best bet is to select muted colours that can be mixed and matched easily, like whites, greys, blacks and navy. Pack layers of t-shirts, sweatshirts and button-downs which you can swap around for a customized outfit. Choose a pair or two of trousers, preferably in a universal colour, so you don’t have to worry about styling them. And of course, don’t forget about the accessories – a watch, for instance, that’s just going to well with absolutely anything is going to be a great addition to your look.

Invest in a grooming kit

That’s right, you can’t forget about grooming when you’re travelling. A good idea here would be to invest in a travel size grooming kit that would cover all the basis – moisturizer, hair care, shaving cream, etc. You can buy all those products individually and create your own grooming kit, which would be personalised and tailored to your own needs, or you can buy one for a reasonable price and enjoy the experience when you’re away. It’s a common knowledge that transporting things like that can be quite complicated and tricky, especially if you’re travelling by plane, so try to keep it minimal – you don’t want to carry around full bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your luggage.

"I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move."

- Robert Louis Stevenson

Layer up

Now that’s not something new that we just came up with; this idea has been around for ages. It’s just so simple and easy, because you don’t have to fit everything in your little suitcase. You can just decide what jacket or coat you want to bring with you and layer it up. It’s especially convenient on those transit days, when you’re travelling by plane, train or even by bus! One thing you should do is layer your bulkiest articles of clothing. Put on your coat and scarf, and wear your boots to save space in your suitcase for other things (like that grooming kit). In fact, some items of clothing should never end up in your bag anyway, like a coat or a jacket, for example. And if you're traveling to a warm destination, simply sling your jacket over one shoulder. It's a chic look that avoids wrinkles in the jacket and stuffing of your luggage!

Everybody wants to look their best when they are travelling. Whether it’s for business or for pleasure, it’s good to be ready for any eventuality. Therefore, we hope that your travel is stress-free and that you manage to pack lightly and stay stylish.
