Best Games to Take on Holiday
Posted by 1st October 2021
A holiday is oftentimes all we need to relax and unwind. There’s nothing better than sitting by the sea, catching those sun rays and sipping on a cold drink. But there always comes the time when we find ourselves bored. We don’t want to mindlessly lie in the sun anymore and we’re tired of walking either, but despite everything, we still want some entertainment. Well, there’s a good solution to that. Why not to grab some games with you on your holiday? Something small, that doesn’t take a lot of space in your suitcase. We have prepared a short list of such games, so keep on reading to find out what to grab before you leave the house!
Dobble
We really hope you have heard about this game, because it’s so much fun! You can play with your whole family – the more people, the better. Basically, the core idea of this game is that you get multiple cards that feature exactly eight symbols on each and every one of them. Any two cards from the deck have exactly one symbol in common. You have to really focus to spot it, it’s not as easy as it sounds! The symbols tend to vary in size, and while sometimes you’re able to spot it right away, there are times when you just can’t seem to find any! Dobble will give you a great chance to challenge your brain during your holiday and it’s sure to provide hours and hours of fun. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out! But be cautious, this game can get pretty wild: screaming, hand-slapping, and snatching are pretty much unavoidable if you really want to have a great time.
Uno
Another game that you just can’t miss! Uno is a game that you should have at home, as well as in your bag when you go travelling. The idea behind this game (if you don’t know it already) is to get rid of all your cards by matching them by colour or number with the top card of the deck. Sounds easy, right? Not quite so. What you will most likely have to do, is probably pick up some cards or exchange them with the other player. Remember, you have to shout ‘uno’ when you only have one card left in your hand, ‘cause if you don’t, you’ll have to draw a card from the deck and you won’t be as close to winning as you could have been. Therefore, prepare for hours of endless fun with this game. Invest in it, and we are sure, you won’t come to regret it!

Cards Against Humanity
This game is perfect for you especially if you love sarcasm and dark humour. The premise of this game is really simple – the dealer reads out loud the phrase from the card they’ve picked at random (there are two decks – one with possible answers, and one with phrases). The phrase on the card is missing a couple words, and therefore, the rest of the players have to choose best card that would go well with that phrase. It’s important to note that the winner of the round is chosen by the dealer, so it would be best to consider their sense of humour. The winner of the game is determined by how many of the players’ cards the dealer decided to choose. This game might not be suitable for children, however, but it’s going to be perfect if you’re travelling with your friends. You’re either going to love it or hate it, there’s no in-between! It’s probably the least politically correct game that’s been invented. Just check it out for yourself!
We are sure there are even more games you could possibly take with you on a holiday. Nowadays there’s a whole array of different educational, funny, or challenging games. We have presented only a few of them, and we are sure you know about some games we have never heard of! We hope you stay productive and busy during your holiday, as boredom, we are sure, is the last thing you want to experience!
